Après Party Tours

These après party packages are the perfect option for those looking for singles ski holidays, sociable ski holidays and for those wanting much more than on-snow action. It’s taken us more than 20 years to perfect the Après Party Tour. It’s taken years of dedication from our après team – their brief was to party like there was no tomorrow when we still had 2 weeks to go. They learned what it meant to to ski on no sleep and did it day after day – all for you! We asked them to experience what it was like to have ski days blurring into awesome après nights. They all know how to ski, but to master the Aspen après scene was a whole different test of skill and endurance. What didn’t kill them made them stronger and it’s thanks to the brave Ski Aspen team that we can now present to you – The Ultimate on-snow party experience!

What happens in Aspen…

The Après Party Tour brief might make you question our sanity – or it might open your eyes to the ski trip of ski trips – the one you’ve always been looking for! By day we’ll take your skiing to the next level with some of the most qualified and experienced ski instructors in Aspen. Then, once the chairlifts close for the day, we flip the switch to après mode. The Ajax Tavern, 39 Degrees, The Little Nell are some of our choice warm-up venues. They’re all on the way home so it’s a mandatory drink in each. the nightly après sessions lead us seamlessly on to Aspen’s 120 bars, restaurants and clubs. The Après Party Tour is a game changer for ski holidays.

The land of après for groups, couples & singles ski holidays

Ski Aspen was founded by an Aussie guy named Nick Farr 21 years ago. Nick’s developed the Après Party Tour through years of studying guests and staff alike. He has created the 1/3 rule:

“To ski, après and party takes some planning. We’re at altitude in Aspen so you can get wiped out if you go too hard too early. It’s our top priority to help our Après Party Tour guests to carefully map out their time in Aspen with us. We’ve established that every day has 24 hours so you need to break that into thirds. On-snow = 1/3, après/party time = 1/3 and recovery/sleep time = 1/3. You can sacrifice time in each 1/3 but you MUST make up for any lost sleep time if you don’t want to miss any ski days. Get too far in red in one area and it can get a little crazy.”

Nick goes onto explain in a thick Aussie accent, “Over two decades, we’ve pretty much seen it all before. Guests arrive excited and fresh off the plane and they go hard too early. We can all go out and have a blinder but you’ve got to be able back up and ski the next day. We’re here to support our guests and show ‘em how it’s done.

50 après ski hero’s ONLY. Be one of the lucky few!

Are you ready for THE après ski party of winter 2017?

Here’s how we maximise your time on the Après Party Tours. Below is an example of the 15 night party tour itinerary. Many seasons of practice have lead us to understand what it takes to start strong and go out with a bang…

Day 1: Arrival Day
Welcome to the Après Party Tour of your life. Welcome to Aspen.
It doesn’t matter what time you flight lands – our in-resort team meet
you at Aspen Airport. Jump in our private transfers, headed for your accommodation and the trip really begins. Today is designed for you to meet fellow Après Ski Heros and take it easy after your journey to get to here… but not to easy. If you’re ready to get started we’ll tell you where and when for a pre-après warm up.

Day 2: Welcome, (safety) & Orientation
We start with a meet and greet. Grab your lift pass and get an update on the days to come. We’ll take you to Aspen Sports to get you kitted out with your equipment and get you on-snow in the afternoon with an optional warm up ski. This is a cruisey warm up on Aspen Mountain for those ready to make a few turns. Everyone gets a map marked with specific locations where our team are positioned for info, drinks and music for you to take a break between runs. There’s no need to over do it on day one – we guarantee you’ll have got more skiing than you’ll have ever expected. First stop en-route home is Sky Bar for an introduction to hot tubbing like never before…

From 7pm we’ve arranged the first welcome event – hosted by Aspen Sports. Join us at their main store for free drinks and food, combined with expert advice, exclusive deals  and good chat for all Ski Aspen après ski

Day 3: Skiing Buttermilk – your first offical on-snow day
Our in-resort après team will take you to Buttermilk where you meet our instructing team. Spend the day getting properly warmed up for the big days ahead while skiing Buttermilk. You’ll see that our on-snow groups are very flexible. Initially we’ll divide into groups based on ability, speed and daring – but you’ll then have the opportunity to swap groups on a daily basis to push yourself, take it easy or ski with friends. Group sizes are up to 6 guests to 1 instructor – a seriously great ratio. Lunch at The Cliffhouse where a beer and the Mongolian Grill is a must. At the end of the day, head home and get set for another welcome party – thanks to Frias Properties of Aspen. Food and drinks is supplied – a great warm up for the rest of the evening.

Day 4: Skiing at Aspen Highlands
You’re off to Aspen Highlands where you’ll meet your instructors. This is the locals favourite mountain and for a good reason. The terrain is wild.

Today is a massive après day. We’d suggest a 12 pm lunch sitting at Cloud 9, then party on in our favourite après venue. Or if you want to ski on, ski hard until about 2.30pm then join the whole Party Tour at Cloud 9 for a seriously good time! But don’t worry, It’s not all over when Ski Patrol shut down the dancing! Once you’ve finished climbed down off the chairs and tables, you’ll ski down straight to another après event hosted by our Ski Aspen team at the base of Highlands – food and drinks supplied.

Day 5: Skiing on Aspen Mountain
Meet the instructing team at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola. After a big apres session yesterday, fortunately today;s start time gives you a little sleep-in. Did someone say free coffee? Grab one for the ride up the gondola, then ski Ajax all morning. Lunch at the Sundeck, possibly the best restaurant view going. And if you’re still hungry, Bonnies famous deserts will give you your fix.

At the end of the ski day, cruise down and meet our team for some happy-hour action at one of the best outdoor après venues in Aspen! Head from the Ajax Tavern for a classy G&T at The Little Nell and then on to Sky Bar on your way home! Tomorrow is a day off so the night is yours to get out and see what late night Aspen is all about. Take the chance for a well earned sleep-in tomorrow.

Day 6: Day off
Your first actual rest day. Take the time to relax and recharge the engines. Or get onto your new après ski friends to grab lunch, go shopping or get back out there and hit the slopes.

Day 7: Skiing at Snowmass
Meet the team at the Snowmass Mall. It’s the biggest of Aspen’s four mountains so no surprises that today is a big day of skiing. Start on one side and it’s lunchtime once you’ve reached the other side. The staff at Sam’s Smokehouse save us tables so Sour guests don’t queue for a table (nice!).Then once the big ski day finishes, you’re just revamping up with another après event – thanks to the Aspen Skiing Company. ASC provide the food and drinks to say thanks for partying with Ski Aspen in Aspen.

Day 8: Skiing back at Aspen Highlands
Back to Aspen Highlands today and you’ll ski some of the terrain you missed on your last visit. Today is also the day for anyone who wants to take on the Highland Bowl.  Skiing from the top of the Bowl is stuff of legend and will be a lasting memory from your trip for a long long time. And to celebrate, you should probably stop off at Cloud 9!

It’s a free night tonight. By now, many of you will be socialising outside of our organised après events. So enjoy a night with others or take a rare quiet night.

Day 9: Skiing back at Snowmass
If you’re on our 10 night Après Party package, it’s your final on-snow day with your instructing team. Back at Snowmass to ski some of the terrain you’re yet to explore.
Try “Long Shot” for a mid-morning challenge or push yourself a bit harder with “Powderhorn”. At the end of the ski day, you’ve got another après party.  And yep, food and drink is on us!

Day 10: Day off
It’s your last full day in Aspen if with us on a 10 night package. Choose to ski by yourself or with your friends. Tonight we’ll have a final night dinner organised to celebrate the good times and the crash and burns with everyone from your trip.

*Day 11: Departure Day for 10 night package guests
Check-out time is 10am. Your transfer to the airport will arrive promptly as this will have been pre-arranged. If you’re on a later flight we’ll help you store your bags until you’re ready to leave. Sadly, your ultimate apres ski holiday has come to an end – unless you’re on our 15 night package!

*Day 11: Day off for 15 night package guests
You have another day off which is well deserved. Take it easy and treat yourself to a wander around town or get back out there and ski your favourite mountain. No official plans today or tonight so spend your last rest day the way you’d like to.

Day 12: Skiing Snowmass
Meet the team as usual on-snow at the Mall and have lunch at Sam’s Smokehouse. Finish the day by skiing your favourite Snows runs, then it’s a tequila après at Venga Venga. You’ll see what we mean when you get there…

Day 13: Last day skiing Aspen Mountain
Cut some top to bottom laps using the Gondola taking on all the glades, steeps or groomers that Ajax has to offer. And if you’re up to it try out some of the more challenging terrain in the double black diamond areas. There’s no après event planned for today but by now you know the routine – it’s Happy Hour at Ajax Tavern Ajax at the end of the ski day.

Day 14: Final Snowmass day
Your final Snowmass ski day. We like to call it the “go big or go home day” as there is still so much to explore on this mountain that you’ll want to push it to ski it all. Meet everyone at the end of the ski day for an unofficial après event most likely at Venga Venga – always a popular choice.

Day 15: Last Highlands ski day
It’s come round way to quickly. It’s your last on-snow day with us. You’ve got a big decision to make – one last hike up the bowl? Go steep in Deep Temerity or Olympic Bowl? Or can you feel Cloud 9 calling you for one last bottle of bubbles? You choose and have a great time out there with the team. There’s a final night dinner arranged to celebrate the highs, the crashes and the seriously funny antics with everyone from your trip.

Day 16: Departure Day
All guests must check-out of accommodation by 10am. We’ll have pre-arranged your transfer to the airport which will get you there in plenty of time for your flight. If you’re on a later scheduled flight we’ll help you store your bags until it’s time to go. Your Aspen adventure for this year but we have a feeling we’ll be seeing you again next year – unless you decide to stay on? Just saying… you’ve got a 30 day lift pass to finish using!
