Day 1: Arrival Day
Welcome to Aspen. You’ve made it after an easy journey from the UK and no matter what time your flight lands, our in-resort hosts will be ready to meet and greet you at Aspen airport. We’ll then transfer you in our private cars to your chosen accommodation. Today is designed to allow you the time to relax and settle into your accommodation after you journey to get here.
Day 2: Welcome & Orientation
Today begins with all guests meeting for a welcome chat. You’ll be handed your lift pass and find out about the rest of your holiday. Today is also the time to get any rental equipment or have your own gear checked by the team at Aspen Sports. In the afternoon we’ll have an optional ‘get your ski legs back’ warm up – a gentle warm up ski on Aspen Mountain for those wanting to make a few turns. Enjoy a welcome party from 7pm hosted by Aspen Sports in their main store. Free beer, wine and appetisers are combined with expert advice and special deals for Ski Aspen guests.
Day 3: Skiing Buttermilk – The on-snow program begins
The in-resort host team will take you to the base of Aspen Buttermilk, where you meet our team of instructors. Spend the day skiing Buttermilk, getting muscles properly warmed up and ready for the big ski days ahead. Our on-snow groups are extremely flexible. Initially divided by ability, speed and daring – you have the opportunity to swap groups on a daily basis to push yourself or take it easy. The choice is yours. Group sizes are a maximum of 6 guests to 1 instructor. All groups will lunch in the same on-mountain restaurant and after skiing, return home and prepare for another welcome party – this time thanks to Frias Properties of Aspen. Food and drinks supplied and it’ll be another great opportunity to get to know the group.
Day 4: Skiing at Aspen Highlands
We’re heading to the base of Aspen Highlands to meet the instructing team. The locals favourite mountain offers all kinds of skiing from wide open groomers to the steepest of steeps. Take a well-earned lunch break with everyone and you’ll finish the ski day with our traditional Ski Aspen après event hosted by our team at the base of Highlands – food and drinks supplied.
Day 5: Skiing on Aspen Mountain
Aspen Mountain’s nickname is Ajax – you’ll hear this a lot. Meet our instructors at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola and grab a free coffee for the ride up, taking in the views. Ski all that Ajax has to offer and meet for lunch in the restaurant with the best views – the Sundeck. We have a night off from offical apres events, but as you’re skiing Ajax, it would be crazy to walk past some of the best après venues in town! Ajax Tavern, Sky Bar and The Little Nell are all on your way home!
Day 6: Day off
Today is a day off from our on-snow program. Choose to take a day off-snow and explore the town, go shopping, head to a museum or visit some of the cafes, restaurants or bars. If you’re going to ski, pick a mountain and off you go. Whether skiing or taking it easy, guests will often cross paths or organise to get together on free days. There is something for everyone in Aspen whether on or off the hill.
Day 7: First day skiing Snowmass
Today you’ll meet your instructors the Snowmass Mall. Snowmass is big. So big that you could fit all three of Aspen’s other mountains into it. Therefore, today is a fantastic day of skiing and exploring. You’ll start skiing on one side of Snowmass and work your way across. By the time you reach the other side, it’s lunchtime. Our ski day finishes back at the Snowmass Mall where we enjoy another great après event – this time hosted by the Aspen Skiing Company. Food and drinks provided courtesy of the Aspen Skiing Company to say thanks for coming to Aspen.
Day 8: Skiing back at Highlands
We’re re-visiting Aspen Highlands. With lots of terrain to still ski and explore, today is also the day for anyone who would like to take on the famous Highland Bowl. A snowcat gives you a helping start with a ride to the foot of the Bowl. An exhilarating hike to the summit of Highland Peak offers views the whole way up. This experience is not to be missed as it’s an incredible ski down! The skiing from the top of the Highland Bowl is stuff of legend.
You have a free evening tonight. Many guests will be socialising together by now (outside of our offical apres events), so enjoy a night out with friends or maybe a quiet one back at your accommodation.
Day 9: Skiing back at Snowmass
It’s back to Snowmass today and you’ll be trying to ski some new terrain that you didn’t get to ski on your last visit. Take on a short hike, glades and then a fun piste called ” Long Shot” for a mid morning adventure or push the boundaries a little by taking on “Powderhorn”. At the end of the ski day, be ready for another après party. And yep, food and drinks are supplied!
Day 10: Skiing back at Ajax
Back to our local Ajax and and you know the routine by now. Grab a free coffee when meeting the team and jump in the gondola. Lunch together at the Sundeck and choose to apres as the lifts close – celebrating yet another incredible day in Aspen. And enjoy the Aspen nightlife a little longer than normal as you have two days off in a row from tomorrow – a well earned sleep-in is waiting for you!
Day 11: Day off
Welcome to your weekend. Today you can take it easy and treat yourself to a stroll around town. Or suit up and get back up there skiing your favourite mountain. Tonight is yours also, so enjoy it your way.
Day 12: Day off
We know it’s tempting to ski everyday of your holiday but we advise at least one full rest day during this two day block. If you skied yesterday, take the day off. If you took yesterday off, go for a little ski. You’ll have felt some changes in your skiing over the last week or so, so get our there and keep working on it, or simply enjoy cruising around.
Day 13: Skiing at Snowmass
We’re back to Snowmass. Meet the team on-snow at the Mall as usual and ski endless groomers, glades, steeps or bumps. We love this mountain!
Day 14: Skiing on Aspen Mountain
Ride the gondola and take a day to push yourself on Ajax more challenging terrain. Our team have the exact skills you need in order to help develop your skiing and help you reach the next level. There aren’t any offical après event today but there’s always something happening at the bottom of Ajax. Join in or head home.
Day 15: Skiing at Aspen Highlands
Your ski fitness and stamina are really showing by now, so you’re options are another hike up the bowl, take on some more challenging terrain in Olympic bowl or Deep Temerity, or enjoy a bit of a mix from groomers to glades, to bumps – just let the team know what you’re feeling like and they’ll have you covered.
Day 16: Day off
It’s your last official day off in Aspen. The final four days are on-snow so take a rest today and prepare for a great end to your trip.
Day: 17: Skiing back at Buttermilk
It’s been a while since we’ve skied at Buttermilk, so that’s where we’re off to today. The Tiehack area has some incredible groomed and tree skiing, and there is never a lift line and barely another person on the same run as you. And it’s definitely time for another Mongolian grill at lunchtime in the Cliff House.
Day 18: Final day skiing on Aspen Mountain
Your last day of skiing on Ajax. Tell the team if you have any favourite runs or areas and get back in there to enjoy the final turns on this incredible mountain. Ski Aspen’s very own Nick Farr and Paul Smythe have celebrated some of the best powder days on Ajax and with 70% of Aspen’s snow falling at night, here’s hoping for a bluebird powder day for you!
Day 19: Lat day skiing at Snowmass
The last Snowmass ski day. Meet our instructing team as usual at the end of the Mall and get ready for a big day on the hill. Try out some of the terrain at the highest lifted point in Aspen – up The Cirque. It gets as challenging as you like up there so let the team know what takes your fancy and get going!
Day 20: Final on-snow day – Skiing Highlands
A sad day as it’s your last on-snow, but a happy one looking back on your time in Aspen. Meet your team at Highlands and choose – one last hike up the bowl? Or challenge yourself in the bumps steeps and trees – some of the best terrain going. Or wind down with some top to bottom runs on the never ending groomers and slip into Cloud 9 for a champagne and a dance on the chairs in our favourite apres venue. There’s a final night dinner arranged in a private venue to celebrate with all the guests from your trip.
Day 21: Departure Day
Guest must check-out of your accommodation by 10am. We’ve pre-arranged your transfer to the airport, so if you have a later flight we can help store your bags until you’re ready to go. For now, your Aspen adventure has come to an end – unless you decide to stay… you’ve got 10 more days to use on your lift pass…
